Student will complete the learning target at the beginning and end of class and it will be collected and graded daily. This helps me to see what the students are understanding and what they are still struggling to understand. It also helps me to see how confident students are through their self-assessment (I know it, I kind of know it, I don’t know it)
Math Homework
Students will be given two math homework assignments a week. The math homework will be given every Monday and will be due on Wednesday. On Tuesday they will have the chance to ask questions. They will then be given a new assignment on Wednesday that is due on Friday. They will be given Thursday to ask questions about the assignment.
DAILY EXPECTATIONS 1.Come to class prepared daily (pencil, paper, agenda, math binder, class work, and homework). 2.Complete warm-up, learning target, and agenda upon entering the room. 3.Be in class and ready to learn 4.Participate in class discussions and ask questions when you don’t understand.
Grading
Students’ grades will be kept using an online grade book. Parents can request to see your child’s progress at anytime. You will be given a code so you are able to access your child’s math grade at any time.
Students’ grades will be weighted as follows: Warm-ups- 15% Homework- 15% Exit Slips (Learning Targets)- 20% Class work- 20% Participation – 10% Tests and Quizzes- 20%
Warm-up
Students will be given their warm-ups for the week on Monday. They will be expected to keep them in their blue math folder and not lose them. They should not work ahead or do the warm-up for homework. They will be collected on Friday. We go over the answers together so this is a great review of math content.
